'Why Didn't You Stop?' Gurugram Biker Confronts Driver Over Alleged Hit-and-Run

A road-rage incident on Gurugram’s Golf Course Road has triggered a police investigation after a woman biker was allegedly hit by a car during a confrontation on the road. The biker, who identifies herself as Sia on social media, has questioned the accused driver's claim that he felt sorry for her following the incident. She asked why the driver did not stop after the alleged collision if he was genuinely concerned about her safety.

The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday when Sia was riding with a group of bikers. According to police, the car driver, identified as Kalyan Bainsla, allegedly followed the motorcycle and signalled the rider to stop. Videos of the incident later circulated widely on social media. Sia has alleged that the car followed her motorcycle before the collision and that the driver failed to stop afterward. She said the consequences could have been far more serious if she had suffered major injuries.

Bainsla, however, has denied deliberately hitting the biker. He reportedly claimed that he did not know a woman was riding the motorcycle and alleged that the bikers were repeatedly slowing down and accelerating in front of his vehicle. The conflicting accounts are now part of the police investigation. The incident gained attention after videos showing parts of the confrontation were shared online. Gurugram Police subsequently began investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and the events that preceded it.

Police have also alleged that the accused was driving dangerously and was suspected of being under the influence of alcohol. These allegations will be subject to investigation and the legal process. The case was later intensified with police adding an attempt-to-murder charge against Bainsla, according to reports. The initial case had reportedly involved provisions relating to rash driving and acts endangering life or personal safety.

The incident has renewed concerns over road rage and aggressive driving in Gurugram, where confrontations between motorists and two-wheeler riders can quickly become dangerous. The investigation is continuing, with police examining available video footage and other evidence to establish the sequence of events and determine responsibility.
