VIP Treatment Allegations Rock Twisha Sharma Death Case, Family Demands Fair Probe

The controversy surrounding the death of former actor and model Twisha Sharma deepened on Friday after her family accused authorities of giving “VIP treatment” to her husband, Samarth Singh, during court proceedings in Jabalpur. The allegations surfaced shortly after Singh, who is accused in the suspected dowry death case, appeared at the Jabalpur district court before being taken into custody by Bhopal police. Twisha’s family has now questioned the circumstances under which he was allegedly allowed access to the courtroom.
According to advocate Anurag Srivastava, counsel for Twisha Sharma’s father, Samarth Singh was allegedly sitting inside the courtroom even before official legal formalities were completed. The lawyer claimed that courtroom doors were closed during the period and raised concerns about whether the accused was receiving preferential treatment due to his family background. The case has attracted national attention partly because Samarth Singh’s mother, Giribala Singh, is a retired judge. Twisha’s family has repeatedly alleged that influence may have affected the investigation and handling of evidence.
Samarth Singh had reportedly remained untraceable for several days after Twisha Sharma was found dead at her matrimonial home in Bhopal earlier this month. Police later intensified efforts to locate him before finally detaining him from the Jabalpur court premises. Singh’s legal team denied claims that he was absconding. His lawyer stated that he was pursuing legal remedies and attempting to surrender through proper judicial channels.
The Madhya Pradesh High Court has allowed a second post-mortem examination in the case after Twisha’s family raised concerns about alleged inconsistencies in the initial autopsy report. The court observed that a fresh examination could help remove doubts and ensure transparency in the investigation. The state government has also recommended a CBI investigation into the matter, adding another major development to the high-profile case.
Fresh allegations have further intensified the controversy after Twisha’s family claimed that several phone calls were made to influential individuals and CCTV technicians soon after her death. The family questioned why CCTV-related communication allegedly took place immediately after the incident, suggesting that digital evidence handling should be closely examined.
Giribala Singh, however, rejected those accusations and stated that the calls were related to condolences and technical concerns surrounding CCTV footage. In another significant move, the Bar Council of India has reportedly suspended Samarth Singh from legal practice amid the ongoing investigation. As the investigation continues, the case has sparked wider debate across social media and legal circles over transparency, accountability, and whether influential individuals receive preferential treatment during criminal proceedings. Twisha Sharma’s family says their primary demand remains unchanged — a fair, impartial, and transparent investigation into her death.
