Tripura CM said the government has one goal: overall development of the common people.

Manik Saha on Monday said that the state government is focused on a single goal — overall development of the common people. Speaking at the inauguration of a pond revival and beautification project at Pratapgarh Rishi Colony under the Agartala Municipal Corporation, he said the current administration discusses nothing but development. He also criticised the opposition, claiming they refuse to recognise the progress being made.
Dr Saha noted that the project’s foundation stone was laid in March 2024 and completed on schedule. Highlighting achievements under the Amrit Sarovar initiative, he said 682 water reservoirs have been constructed to help maintain groundwater levels, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s nationwide water conservation vision.
He added that Union Home Minister Amit Shah recently visited Agartala for a national language promotion event, where participants appreciated Tripura’s development. He also said the Act East Policy has boosted growth in the North-East, including Tripura. Over the past year, the Chief Minister said he has inaugurated or laid foundation stones for projects worth more than ₹1,300 crore. Stressing women’s empowerment, he said the state aims to create 1.18 lakh Lakhpati Didis, with 1.08 lakh already achieved.
Dr Saha further stated that urban development remains a priority, citing work on Agartala’s Eastern Ring Road and plans for the Western Ring Road to reduce traffic congestion. Reaffirming his government’s commitment, he said development should reach the last person and emphasised the importance of education for socio-economic progress. The event was attended by Agartala Mayor Dipak Majumdar, Deputy Mayor Manika Das Dutta, officials, public representatives and local residents.
