The Indian Army has wrapped up 'Exercise Maru Jwala' in Jaisalmer, conducted as part of the broader 'Trishul' drill.

The Indian Army’s Southern Command conducted 'Exercise Maru Jwala' on Tuesday in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, as part of the ongoing tri-services 'Trishul' drill, highlighting the preparedness and coordination of its elite forces. Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Command, described the exercise as a critical phase of the broader Trishul operations.
The exercise brought together key units of the Southern Command, including the Sudarshan Chakra Corps, a strike corps that had been training for the past two months. The main component, the Shahbaz Division, a rapid-response unit, participated along with the Southern Command’s Aviation Brigade, Electronic Warfare Brigade, and Para-SF Battalion. General Seth emphasized that the success displayed during Maru Jwala was the result of their rigorous training and coordination over this period.
He also highlighted the role of the pathfinders from the 7th Para Battalion and Airborne Battalion as the final-stage strategic force in the exercise. General Seth praised the dedication and professionalism of the troops, noting the effective integration of modern equipment into their operations. He expressed confidence that the Sudarshan Chakra Corps would successfully incorporate the new-generation equipment into future exercises and commended the corps for their hard work and commitment.
