The first glimpse of Charlie Heaton as Charles Shelby in the upcoming sequel to Peaky Blinders has officially been revealed.

Netflix has unveiled the first official look at Charlie Heaton as Charles Shelby in the upcoming untitled sequel to Peaky Blinders. Heaton, widely recognized for portraying Jonathan Byers in Stranger Things, will step into the role of Charles Shelby. The new series will also feature Jamie Bell as Duke Shelby, Charles’ half-brother.  he six-part drama will explore the next chapter of the Shelby family following the departure of Tommy Shelby, played by Cillian Murphy, in the recently released spin-off film The Immortal Man. In the movie, Duke Shelby was portrayed by Barry Keoghan.

According to the official synopsis, Charles Shelby returns from a brutal war experience and attempts to build a quieter, more ordinary life away from the infamous Shelby empire. Having cut ties with both the Peaky Blinders gang and his estranged half-brother Duke years ago, Charles now faces the question of whether anyone can truly escape their family legacy. The first-look image was shared through the show’s official Instagram account on Friday.

Currently being filmed in Birmingham, the series is set roughly ten years after World War II during the reconstruction of the city following the devastation of the Blitz, according to reports from Variety. The cast also includes Jessica Brown Findlay, Lashana Lynch, and Lucy Karczewski.

While an official release date is yet to be announced, the series will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the UK, while international audiences will be able to watch it on Netflix. The franchise continues under the creative direction of Steven Knight, with production handled by Kudos and Garrison Drama, both part of Banijay UK.
