The incident occurred around 8 PM on Wednesday at Old Mussoorie Road, according to Dehradun Superintendent of Police Ajay Singh. The victims were identified as laborers, and initial reports suggest the vehicle involved may have been a Mercedes. A nearby scooty was also struck in the collision, leaving two individuals with leg injuries. The injured were rushed to a local hospital and are currently stable, police confirmed.
Authorities have begun investigating the incident and have identified multiple vehicles that were in the area at the time. "We have tracked down 11-12 cars and are hopeful of identifying the driver soon," SSP Singh said. Police teams are actively searching for the suspect, and further details are awaited.
In another case on March 3, Uttarakhand Police arrested three men after a police encounter in Haridwar’s Landaura area, which resulted in one fatality and another person injured. The accused, identified as Ankush alias Ranjha, Abhishek alias Robin, and Prashant alias Sunny, were apprehended following a late-night operation.
Authorities recovered a .315 bore country-made pistol and live cartridges from the suspects.
