Sophie Dhawan shared a special yet emotional glimpse of her first-ever visit to Lord’s Cricket Ground, describing the experience as “bittersweet” after attending India’s important ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 Group A match against Australia. She was present at the iconic London venue with husband Shikhar Dhawan, along with cricket personalities Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma and Ravi Shastri.

The high-voltage clash at the historic ground on Sunday, June 28, attracted several well-known figures from Indian cricket. Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma, former India head coach Ravi Shastri, and ex-Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan were seen in the stands supporting Harmanpreet Kaur-led Team India during the crucial encounter.

After the match, Sophie Dhawan posted a series of pictures on Instagram capturing moments from the memorable day. The photo collection featured her with Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, Anushka Sharma and Ravi Shastri, along with personal selfies with Shikhar and Anushka, offering fans a look at the star-filled gathering at the famous cricket ground.

Sharing her thoughts about visiting the “Home of Cricket” for the first time, Sophie wrote that although the occasion carried mixed emotions, the atmosphere inside the stadium was unforgettable. She highlighted the presence of 27,163 spectators, calling it a record crowd and a sign of the remarkable growth of women’s cricket.

The India vs Australia contest ended in disappointment for the Indian team as Australia Women secured a six-wicket victory at Lord’s to qualify for the semi-finals and knock India out of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. Batting first, India posted 170/4 after a powerful innings from captain Harmanpreet Kaur, who smashed 56 runs off just 27 deliveries, with support from Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma. However, Australia chased down the target successfully, reaching 172/4 in the 19th over. Ellyse Perry and Ashleigh Gardner played match-winning unbeaten half-centuries after Australia were reduced to 72/3 during the chase.
