Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Tuesday expressed profound grief over the tragic boat accident at Mata Tila Dam near Khaniyadhana police station in Shivpuri district. Taking to social media platform X, Scindia described the incident as "extremely sad" and said he had spoken with the Shivpuri Collector and Superintendent of Police to assess the situation.
The boat was ferrying devotees to the Siddh Baba temple when it capsized, leaving seven people, including three women, missing. Fortunately, eight others managed to escape safely. Shivpuri Superintendent of Police Aman Singh Rathore confirmed that a search and rescue operation was underway. Scindia assured that rescue teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) were working tirelessly to locate the missing individuals. He expressed his deep concern for the affected families, saying, "I pray to God that all the missing devotees are found safe and that their families find the strength to endure this difficult time."
Authorities are continuing their efforts, with divers and rescue personnel scouring the waters for any signs of the missing passengers. The administration has intensified operations, deploying additional resources to expedite the search. Local officials have also urged people to follow safety measures when traveling by boat, especially during adverse weather conditions. Further updates on the situation are awaited as rescue teams work relentlessly to bring closure to the affected families.
