Over 70 percent of Armed Forces officers come from Sainik Schools, says Arunachal Pradesh Governor.

On December 4, Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt. General KT Parnaik (Retd.) visited his alma mater, Sainik School Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, where he was part of the first batch in 1962. Standing before the iconic Yuvraj Bhawan, he reflected on the school’s rich history, its founders, and the enduring values that have shaped generations of cadets.
He described the school as sacred ground where discipline, character, and leadership are instilled in young minds. Addressing the cadets, he praised Sainik Schools nationwide for producing over 70% of officers in the Armed Forces and highlighted Sainik School Rewa’s distinguished legacy. He encouraged cadets to embrace discipline, hard work, teamwork, and healthy competition, and to develop leadership qualities by being confident and taking on challenges early.
The Governor emphasized that true leadership involves communication, empathy, collaboration, and integrity—skills essential for serving the nation and contributing to the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. He specially acknowledged girl cadets, praising their achievements in academics, sports, and adventure, and urged them to lead with courage, embodying strength, wisdom, and grace.
He also addressed teachers, recognizing their vital role in mentoring and guiding cadets. Highlighting the importance of emotional intelligence, adaptability, and a growth mindset, he encouraged the school to prepare students for future challenges while continuing its legacy as a cradle for nation-builders.
