Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang is set to meet with former U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House on Thursday, just a day before his scheduled trip to China, a source familiar with the matter said. This meeting coincides with a major milestone for Nvidia, whose market valuation surpassed $4 trillion on Thursday, solidifying its position as one of Wall Street’s most valuable companies.

The specifics of the conversation between Huang and Trump have not yet been disclosed. Bloomberg was the first to report the planned meeting. Neither the White House nor Nvidia immediately responded to Reuters’ requests for comment. Huang has previously voiced criticism over the Trump administration’s export restrictions, which in April blocked Nvidia from selling its H20 chip—designed for the Chinese market. He described the chip as “a springboard to global success.”

These restrictions led to a $2.5 billion revenue loss in the first quarter for the AI chipmaker, with a projected $8 billion loss expected in the second quarter. In June, Huang told CNN that Nvidia would no longer factor China into its revenue and profit projections due to the tightened U.S. trade rules on chip exports to the country.
