The investigation into the controversial TCS Nashik “conversion” case took a major turn after Maharashtra Police arrested Nida Khan, one of the key accused who had reportedly been evading authorities for several weeks. She was detained from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and is expected to be produced before a Nashik court as the probe continues to expand.

The case first surfaced after a woman employee at Tata Consultancy Services’ Nashik office filed a complaint accusing a co-worker of misleading her with promises of marriage despite already being married. The complaint later widened into allegations involving workplace harassment, religious coercion, and pressure to convert faiths. According to investigators, Nida Khan allegedly played a role in influencing and pressuring the complainant regarding religious practices.

As the investigation progressed, several more women reportedly approached the police with similar allegations connected to the same workplace environment. Authorities subsequently registered multiple FIRs and formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to handle the sensitive matter. Police officials claim that at least seven other accused individuals linked to the case have already been arrested.

Before her arrest, Khan had approached the court seeking anticipatory bail, reportedly citing health and pregnancy-related concerns. However, the plea was rejected after prosecutors argued that custodial interrogation was necessary to uncover the full extent of the alleged network and its operations.

The controversy has also sparked broader discussions around workplace safety, employee grievance mechanisms, and corporate accountability in large organizations. While TCS clarified that Nida Khan did not hold a senior HR leadership role and stated that no formal complaints had been received through internal channels earlier, the company suspended employees linked to the investigation and reiterated its zero-tolerance policy toward harassment and misconduct.

Law enforcement agencies continue to investigate whether the allegations point to isolated incidents or a larger organized network operating within or beyond the workplace. Officials have indicated that further questioning and digital evidence analysis may reveal additional details in the coming days.
