The alleged NEET UG 2026 paper leak case has taken a major turn after investigators uncovered a possible connection between two Jaipur-based brothers and a Gurugram-linked network suspected of illegally circulating the medical entrance exam paper before the test. According to officials involved in the investigation, the accused allegedly paid nearly ₹20 lakh to access the NEET question paper ahead of the examination. The case has now drawn national attention as central agencies continue raids and questioning across multiple states.

The controversy began after reports surfaced claiming that portions of the NEET UG paper were being circulated through messaging platforms before the examination was conducted. Investigators believe the paper may have been shared through a chain of middlemen operating between Rajasthan and Haryana. Sources close to the probe said the two brothers from Jaipur are suspected to have obtained the paper through contacts connected to Gurugram. Authorities are now examining digital evidence, transaction records and communication history to determine how the alleged network operated and how many candidates may have benefited from it.

The investigation has also brought Rajasthan’s Sikar district into focus. Known as one of India’s largest coaching hubs for medical and engineering entrance exams, the area is now under scrutiny over claims that leaked material may have been circulated among select students before the exam day. Officials suspect the question paper was scanned and shared digitally using encrypted messaging apps and private groups. Forensic teams are analysing mobile phones, laptops and online chats recovered during raids to trace the origin of the leak.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has now stepped into the matter after preliminary findings indicated the possibility of an organised interstate network. Several individuals have reportedly been detained or questioned, while agencies continue to investigate the financial trail linked to the alleged deal. The case reportedly came to light after a teacher from Rajasthan alerted authorities about similarities between a paper circulating online and the actual NEET examination. That information triggered a wider investigation, eventually leading agencies to uncover a larger suspected operation.

The alleged leak has once again raised serious concerns about the security of competitive examinations in India. NEET remains one of the country’s most important entrance tests, with lakhs of students competing every year for limited medical seats. Any compromise in the examination process directly affects genuine aspirants who spend years preparing for the test.

Students and parents across the country have expressed anger over the incident, demanding stricter safeguards and stronger action against those involved in exam-related fraud. Education experts have also called for tighter monitoring of printing, transportation and digital handling systems connected to major national-level examinations. As the investigation continues, agencies are expected to make more arrests and reveal further details about the alleged paper leak network in the coming days.
