Kate Hudson shared valuable parenting advice for mothers, urging them to learn to "let go" of their children as they grow. The 46-year-old actress, who is a mother of three—Ryder, 21, with her first husband Chris Robinson, Bingham, 13, with her former fiancé Matt Bellamy, and Rani, 6, with her current fiancé Danny Fujikawa—believes that mothers should avoid imposing expectations on their kids. In a recent appearance on the Not Gonna Lie podcast, Hudson opened up about her experiences as a mother, emphasizing the importance of letting children grow independently.

Hudson recalled how her relationship with her eldest son, Ryder, has evolved over time. She mentioned that when Ryder was 21, he began to offer her thoughtful perspectives about her life, especially regarding her busy schedule. “He was like, 'You alright?'” Hudson shared, recalling a pivotal moment when her son reflected on her life choices. She realized that the effort she put into raising Ryder had come full circle, with him offering wisdom in return. “I raised this son to actually… he’s giving back to me right now,” Hudson said, noting how rewarding it was to see him mature and share his insights.

The actress stressed the importance of mothers allowing their children to become independent, particularly as they grow older. She explained that when kids start getting older, mothers need to accept that they won’t always be physically close. Holding on too tightly can only drive them away, Hudson warned. She advised mothers to “let them go enjoy their life” and not to have unrealistic expectations of their children’s involvement in their lives. Hudson believes that even if children don't call every week, when they do, it’s meaningful, and they still need their parents. Through this conversation, Hudson offered a message of trust and freedom, reminding mothers that children need space to grow and that unconditional love can look different at every stage of life.
