Laura Loomer Accuses Hasan Piker of Dog Abuse After FBI Launches 5,000 dollar Reward

Laura Loomer has accused Twitch streamer and political commentator Hasan Piker of abusing his dog after the FBI announced a $5,000 reward for information that leads to successful prosecutions in animal cruelty cases. The controversy began after the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California announced a new FBI tip line targeting serious animal abuse. The initiative is part of a broader federal effort to investigate cases that fall under the Preventing Animal Cruelty and Torture Act, commonly known as the PACT Act.

Following the announcement, Loomer directed attention toward Piker and his dog, Kaya. She alleged that previously circulated livestream footage showed Piker mistreating the animal and called on federal authorities to examine the material. Loomer also said she would donate any $5,000 reward she received to a no-kill animal shelter in Kaya’s name.

The allegations have quickly gained traction online because footage involving Piker and Kaya had previously generated debate among viewers. Critics have questioned Piker’s treatment of the dog, while the streamer has disputed accusations that he intentionally abused his pet. The FBI’s announcement, however, does not name Piker or indicate that he is the subject of a federal investigation. The $5,000 reward applies generally to information that results in successful prosecutions of qualifying animal cruelty offenses.

Under the PACT Act, federal authorities can prosecute certain severe acts of animal cruelty that occur in or affect interstate or foreign commerce. The law also addresses the production of certain videos depicting extreme animal abuse. Federal authorities are encouraging people with information about potential violations to provide evidence such as photographs, videos, dates, locations and other identifying details. The initiative is being supported by several law enforcement agencies in the Los Angeles area.

The renewed dispute between Loomer and Piker also reflects the increasingly prominent role social media plays in allegations involving public figures. A video shared online can attract millions of views within hours, but determining whether conduct constitutes a criminal offense requires investigators to establish the facts and apply the relevant law.

At this stage, Loomer’s claims against Piker remain allegations. No federal charge against Piker has been announced in connection with the animal-abuse accusations, and the FBI’s reward program should not be interpreted as confirmation of the claims. The controversy is likely to continue attracting attention as users revisit the earlier footage and debate whether it warrants further scrutiny by authorities.
