India Issues NOTAM Ahead of Massive Tri-Service Exercise on Pakistan Frontier

India has issued a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) alert for a major tri-services military exercise called "Ex Trishul" scheduled to take place along the Pakistan border from October 30 to November 10, 2025. This large-scale drill will involve the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force operating together in a show of joint operational capability. The exercise has been described as unusual in both scale and chosen area, with airspace reserved up to 28,000 feet, indicating one of the most significant combined military operations in recent years.
The Indian Ministry of Defence has highlighted that Ex Trishul aims to showcase the pillars of jointness, Atmanirbharta (self-reliance), and innovation—key components of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for the armed forces. The troops, mainly from the Southern Command, will validate operations across challenging terrains such as the creek and desert sectors and will conduct amphibious operations near the Saurashtra coast. Moreover, the exercise will incorporate Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR), Electronic Warfare, and Cyber capabilities to hone multi-domain operational readiness.
This exercise follows the heightened military tensions after Operation Sindoor, an earlier offensive carried out by India against terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan in May 2025. Operation Sindoor demonstrated India's offensive precision and restraint, neutralizing over 100 terrorists and escalating military readiness on the Western front. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has said Operation Sindoor serves as a caution to Pakistan against future misadventures.
Ex Trishul is not only a training event but a strategic message demonstrating India's capability to open multiple fronts beyond Punjab and Kashmir, including Southern sectors near Pakistan's coast. Pakistan has reportedly responded with high alert mobilizations in southern commands, anxious about India's ability to threaten vital maritime hubs like Karachi, which is crucial to Pakistan's trade and energy supply routes.
This tri-services exercise underscores India's growing military synergy and readiness while emphasizing indigenous military technology and innovation. It highlights India’s preparedness to face evolving security challenges collaboratively across land, air, and sea domains, firmly rooted in strategic deterrence and self-reliance.
