India has strongly rejected Pakistan’s claims of its involvement in the recent attack on the Jaffar Express train, dismissing the accusations as baseless.
On Thursday, Pakistan’s Foreign Office spokesperson, Shafqat Ali Khan, alleged that the militants responsible for the attack were in communication with their handlers in Afghanistan and accused India of supporting terrorism within Pakistan.
“In this particular attack on the Jaffar Express, the militants were in contact with their handlers and leaders based in Afghanistan,” Khan stated during his weekly press briefing. India’s Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson, Randhir Jaiswal, issued a firm rebuttal on Friday, calling Islamabad’s allegations “unfounded” and accusing Pakistan of deflecting responsibility.
“We categorically reject these baseless accusations,” Jaiswal responded. “The world is well aware of the true epicenter of global terrorism. Instead of shifting blame for its internal problems, Pakistan should introspect on its own failures.” Afghanistan also dismissed Pakistan’s assertion that Kabul had provided shelter to the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), the group responsible for the train attack. Taliban Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Abdul Qahar Balki, warned Pakistan against making what he called “irresponsible remarks.”
“We categorically reject Pakistan’s baseless allegations linking Afghanistan to the attack on a train in Balochistan,” Balki stated. “No Baloch opposition members reside in Afghanistan, nor have they ever been associated with the Islamic Emirate.” Balki urged Pakistan to concentrate on addressing its own internal security challenges rather than making unwarranted claims.
