G7 has called on India and Pakistan to reduce tensions and resolve their conflict through dialogue.

On Sunday, the Group of Seven (G7) nations urged India and Pakistan to exercise the utmost restraint and emphasized the need for immediate de-escalation of their military conflict through dialogue. The statement came amidst the ongoing intensification of military confrontations between the two nuclear-armed nations.
The G7 expressed its ongoing vigilance over the situation and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting a swift, lasting diplomatic solution. The foreign ministers of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the UK, the US, along with the High Representative of the European Union, condemned the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, which further escalated tensions. In light of the attack, the G7 stressed the importance of both countries showing maximum restraint.
The G7 statement warned that further military escalation posed a severe threat to regional stability, highlighting the significant risks to civilian safety on both sides of the border. The group called for an immediate de-escalation of military actions and encouraged India and Pakistan to engage in direct, constructive dialogue to find a peaceful resolution. The G7 remains committed to closely monitoring developments and continues to call for a diplomatic approach that prioritizes lasting peace and stability in the region, avoiding any further conflict that could jeopardize the safety and security of millions of people.
