AAP’s Delhi unit president and former minister Saurabh Bharadwaj has alleged that official records of letters and directions he issued during his tenure have disappeared from the Delhi government’s digital file management system under the BJP administration. According to AAP, while digital records were missing, entries confirming the correspondence were later found in physical registers, establishing that the notes had indeed been sent.

At a press conference on Tuesday, Bharadwaj described the matter as “unprecedented and extremely serious,” demanding a probe. He stated that all e-records of file movements related to his orders—including directions to the Health Secretary and Chief Secretary—had vanished. He further explained that when he filed RTIs in July regarding actions taken on his 2024 orders—such as a third-party audit of drain desilting—the replies claimed the Chief Secretary had never received any such notes. After appealing against the responses, Bharadwaj discovered during a hearing at the Secretariat that all related file movement records were missing from the government server.

However, he said physical registers confirmed the dispatch and receipt of his notes, and photocopies of the letters were still available in the minister’s office. Bharadwaj emphasized that this discrepancy proves the letters existed but their digital trail was deliberately erased. Calling for an immediate investigation, he warned that the disappearance of a minister’s official communication from government servers undermines accountability and sets a dangerous precedent.
