The 84th Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has installed and ceremonially hoisted a 61-foot-high National Flag at its Tactical Headquarters in Chanderkote, Ramban, overlooking the banks of the Chenab River. Speaking at the event on Friday, Commandant N. Ranbir Singh highlighted the importance of the Tricolour, describing it as a powerful symbol of India's honour, pride, and the countless sacrifices made during the country's freedom struggle.

"We have proudly raised the Indian National Flag, the Tiranga, on a 61-foot mast at the CRPF headquarters on the banks of the Chenab River in Ramban. The Tiranga stands for our nation's dignity, pride, and glory. It reflects the hopes and aspirations of millions of Indians and reminds us of the immense sacrifices that secured our independence. For every citizen, and especially for those serving in the armed forces, this flag holds deep emotional and national significance," he said.

At the same time, with the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026 progressing smoothly, the CRPF continues to play a vital role in ensuring the security and welfare of pilgrims. The force has deployed an extensive security network along National Highway-44, with personnel conducting continuous Road Opening Party (ROP) operations to safeguard the pilgrimage route.

The CRPF's 84th Battalion has established a round-the-clock Mobile Health Camp at Chanderkote in Ramban district. The facility provides immediate medical assistance to both pilgrims and local residents. Operating under the leadership of Commandant N. Ranbir Singh, the medical unit is headed by Senior Medical Officer Dr. Anantha Krishnan and supported by trained paramedical staff. Equipped with an Advanced Life Support ambulance and essential emergency medicines, the team is delivering timely healthcare services, underscoring the CRPF's commitment to protecting not only the safety but also the well-being of devotees throughout the annual pilgrimage.
