Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis hit back at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, saying he lacks awareness of India’s economic development and the "Make in India" initiative. He claimed Gandhi is uninformed about the country’s manufacturing sector and credited PM Modi for elevating India’s economy from 11th to 4th place globally, predicting it will soon become the 3rd largest. Fadnavis remarked, "Rahul Gandhi doesn’t know what’s made in India. He should do some homework."

This response came after Rahul Gandhi criticized PM Modi, saying "Make in India" hasn’t delivered results. He argued that economic growth is not inclusive, with benefits limited to a few billionaires while ordinary people struggle. Citing declining sales of vehicles and mobile phones, Gandhi pointed to growing economic distress.

In a post on X, Gandhi questioned why manufacturing is declining and youth unemployment rising despite promises. He accused Modi of relying on slogans rather than solutions, noting increased imports from China and reduced domestic manufacturing. Gandhi also shared his meeting with two skilled youths in Delhi, saying they lack opportunities to grow. He criticized the government’s economic approach, alleging it supports imports over local production and that even the PLI scheme is being withdrawn. Calling for honest reforms and support for Indian producers, Gandhi warned that without strong local industry, India will remain dependent on foreign markets.
