New Delhi: Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke has left the United States for India ahead of the organisation’s planned protest in Delhi, expected to take place at Jantar Mantar on June 6. Before boarding his flight, Dipke shared a message on social media saying he was “leaving my fate in the hands of the Constitution,” indicating that the upcoming demonstration would remain within democratic and legal boundaries.

The protest has been called primarily over the NEET paper leak controversy and other examination-related concerns, with the group demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Dipke, who has been leading the movement from the US, is expected to reach Delhi directly before participating in the protest preparations. According to reports, he may also approach authorities seeking official permission for the demonstration at Jantar Mantar.

The CJP movement has gained significant traction online in recent weeks, particularly among students and young social media users frustrated over recurring issues related to competitive examinations, recruitment delays, and unemployment. Reuters recently reported that the organisation has built a large digital following, with millions engaging with its campaigns across social platforms. Dipke had invited supporters to receive him at the airport upon his arrival in India. However, the organisation later urged followers not to gather there, citing concerns over crowd management and public inconvenience.

Despite speculation about possible legal action, Dipke has maintained that the protest would remain peaceful and constitutional. In previous interviews, he stated that he was aware there could be “consequences” upon his return but said he was exercising his democratic right to protest.

The upcoming protest is being closely watched as the movement transitions from online activism to on-ground political mobilisation. The organisation has also recently appointed official spokespersons, signalling efforts to formalise its structure ahead of future campaigns. With Dipke now on his way to India, attention has shifted to whether Delhi Police will grant permission for the protest and how large the turnout will be in the national capital.
