Bomb disposal units and canine teams were deployed after multiple courts in Odisha received bomb threats through email.

Cuttack and several other areas of Odisha were placed on high alert after multiple courts across the state received an anonymous email threatening to damage court buildings. Following the warning, security agencies acted swiftly by increasing surveillance and deploying specialised teams to prevent any possible incident.
On Thursday, Deputy Commissioner of Police Khilari Rishikesh Dnyandeo confirmed that bomb disposal units, dog squads, and additional security personnel had been deployed in accordance with standard operating procedures. He said the message was treated as a sensitive security matter and that thorough inspections were being conducted at the affected locations. Authorities continue to assess the threat, and further details are awaited.
Director General of Police Yogesh Bahadur Khurania said police took immediate notice of the threat email received the previous day and launched a comprehensive investigation. As a precaution, heightened security measures and checks have been enforced at all concerned sites. He assured the public that the situation is under close observation and urged people to remain calm and cooperate with authorities. Soon after the email was received, staff and visitors were evacuated from the High Court and district court premises to allow security teams to conduct inspections. The threat disrupted court operations and raised safety concerns among legal professionals.
Senior Advocate Prafulla Kumar Sahoo of the Odisha High Court told ANI that court work had come to a standstill following the threat. He also expressed concern over poor traffic management, noting that a large number of parked vehicles could make evacuation difficult in the event of an emergency. He stressed the need for stronger security arrangements at the premises.
