BLA Claims 52 Pakistani Personnel Killed in 28 Operations Across Balochistan

The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed that it carried out 28 operations across Balochistan between September 1 and 7, alleging that 52 Pakistani military personnel were killed and several others injured. According to a weekly statement attributed to BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch, the reported operations took place across areas including Pasni, Kharan, Kalat, Turbat, Mastung, Surab, Tump, Pishin, Noshki, Chagai and Quetta. The group also claimed that 12 of its own fighters were killed during clashes with Pakistani forces.

The BLA described several attacks involving military convoys, checkpoints and security positions. Among its claims was an attack near Ziarat Cross in Pishin, where it said 18 Pakistani personnel were killed and five wounded. It also claimed responsibility for attacks in Mastung, Surab and Kalat, including attacks involving explosives and ambushes. The claims come amid continuing military operations by Pakistan in the province. 

Pakistan's military recently said security forces had killed 11 militants in Kharan and Washuk, while earlier operations across Mastung, Sibi, Quetta and Kalat reportedly resulted in 48 militant deaths, according to Pakistani military statements. The BLA has said it intends to continue its armed campaign, including what it describes as an economic blockade targeting Pakistani forces and projects it considers exploitative. The group says its objective is an independent Balochistan.
