A large number of devotees visited the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple on Monday morning for the darshan of Lord Ram ahead of the Dhwajarohan (flag-hoisting) ceremony on November 25. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hoist the saffron flag atop the Shri Ram Temple on Tuesday, an event expected to draw huge numbers of visitors from India and abroad.

Preparations for the grand ceremony are in full swing, with Ayodhya being decorated using nearly 100 tons of flowers. Devotees expressed their excitement and gratitude, with many saying they felt blessed to have Ram Lalla’s darshan. Several visitors from Karnataka praised PM Modi for Ayodhya’s development, calling the arrangements excellent.

Security has been strengthened, and Rapid Action Force personnel have been deployed at the temple. A temple priest said that floral decorations—especially marigolds—are a key highlight, as they are considered dear to Lord Ram. Workers involved in the decorations said they feel fortunate to contribute to this historic occasion. The Chief Minister’s Office noted that the influx of devotees during the Prime Minister’s visit is expected to boost sectors such as hospitality, travel, local crafts, and ODOP-linked products like jaggery, generating business worth several crores.

Indologist Lalit Mishra recently rediscovered Ayodhya’s ancient flag while studying the pictorial Ramayana of Mewar and confirming its mention in the Ayodhya Kand of the Valmiki Ramayana. The flag to be hoisted bears three symbols—Om, the Sun, and the Kovidara tree. The Kovidara tree, a hybrid created by Rishi Kashyap, symbolizes ancient plant knowledge, while the Sun represents Lord Ram’s Suryavansh lineage and Om signifies eternal spirituality.
