Asian Games 2026: Himanshu Dhillon Wins Silver, Rudrankksh Patil Secures Bronze in 10m Air Rifle

Aichi-Nagoya: Indian shooters Himanshu Dhillon and Rudrankksh Patil secured silver and bronze medals respectively in the men's 10m air rifle individual event at the 2026 Asian Games, adding two more podium finishes to India's shooting campaign. China's Olympic champion Sheng Lihao won the gold medal after finishing the final with 254.2 points. Himanshu Dhillon claimed silver with 252.4 points, while Rudrankksh Patil finished third with 230.9 points.

Himanshu entered the final after scoring 630.0 points in qualification. Although he started the final from seventh position, he remained in contention through the elimination rounds before advancing to the final two. Rudrankksh also produced a strong showing and stayed among the leading shooters during the early stages of the final. He recorded 52.8 in his opening series and 53.2 in the second series before being eliminated after 22 shots.

The individual medals came after India had also won silver in the men's 10m air rifle team event. Rudrankksh Patil, Himanshu Dhillon and Parth Mane combined for 1890.1 points to finish behind China, which topped the team competition with 1899.0 points. South Korea took the bronze medal. Rudrankksh had earlier been part of India's gold-medal-winning men's 10m air rifle team at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou. His latest bronze adds another individual medal to his Asian Games record.

The silver represents a major podium finish at the continental multi-sport event. The two medals also strengthen India's early medal tally in shooting at the Aichi-Nagoya Games. India's shooting contingent will now turn its attention to the remaining events, with further opportunities for medals across individual and team competitions.
