Anthropic is reportedly in preliminary discussions with investors to secure at least $30 billion in fresh funding, a move that could mark the company’s biggest capital raise so far. Sources familiar with the matter said the funding round may value the AI startup at over $900 billion before the new investment is added, although negotiations are still ongoing and no final agreement has been signed. The company behind the Claude AI platform is accelerating fundraising efforts as demand for advanced artificial intelligence tools continues to surge. Reports suggest the financing round could be completed by the end of the month if talks progress smoothly.

The fundraising push comes as Anthropic expands its position in the fast-growing AI industry and explores the possibility of launching an IPO later this year. The company is seeking additional capital primarily to strengthen its computing infrastructure and support increasing customer demand for its AI products and services.

According to sources, Anthropic has recently engaged with existing investors regarding participation in the proposed funding round after receiving strong interest from potential backers. The startup has already secured major financial commitments from leading technology companies. Google reportedly agreed to invest $10 billion in Anthropic at a previous valuation of $350 billion, with the possibility of adding another $30 billion if the company achieves certain milestones. Amazon has committed $5 billion initially and may increase its total investment by up to $20 billion over time.

Founded in 2021 by former employees of OpenAI, Anthropic has quickly become one of the major players in the AI sector. The company develops AI systems designed to assist businesses with tasks such as coding, automation, cybersecurity, and enterprise operations. OpenAI was reportedly valued at around $852 billion during a funding round completed earlier this year.
