Afghan Taliban Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi has said that tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan can be resolved through dialogue and diplomatic engagement, as relations between the two neighbours continue to deteriorate.

Speaking at a meeting on Afghanistan in Moscow, Muttaqi accused Pakistan’s military of relying on military pressure rather than pursuing political understanding. He said Afghanistan considers self-defence against any aggression to be its legitimate right.

Muttaqi also criticised Pakistan for allegedly using transit routes, refugees and students as instruments of pressure and warned against allowing bilateral disputes to turn into a cycle of accusations and propaganda.

Pakistan, meanwhile, has accused the Taliban government of allowing militant groups to operate from Afghan territory and carry out attacks inside Pakistan. Kabul rejects the allegations, maintaining that militancy is an internal Pakistani issue.

The remarks come amid escalating military tensions and cross-border violence between the two countries. Despite the strained relations, the Taliban says it remains open to resolving differences through diplomatic channels.
