A global, year-long celebration has been announced to mark the 25th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.

Harry Potter is set to celebrate 25 years since his debut on the big screen. To honour the launch of one of the most successful film franchises ever, Warner Bros has announced a global, year-long celebration marking the 25th anniversary of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone — known in the UK as Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone — which first premiered on November 16, 2001.
According to the studio, the campaign will span all of 2026, featuring special events and exclusive merchandise to “celebrate the legacy” of the first film and bring “the magic to a new generation.” The initiative was revealed by Warner Bros Discovery Global Consumer Products, a division of the company’s broader entertainment and retail group.
Daniel Radcliffe, now 36, portrayed the iconic boy wizard in the adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s 1997 novel, alongside Emma Watson as Hermione Granger and Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley. Though the three were relatively unknown at the time, the movie catapulted them to worldwide fame. Warner Bros said the anniversary “celebrates the original film’s legacy while introducing the wonder of Harry Potter to a new audience.” Fans can look forward to a global theatrical re-release of the first film, limited-edition merchandise, and major retail promotions.
A special 25th-anniversary logo, inspired by the shimmering light of a Patronus charm, will appear across products and “immersive retail experiences.” Originally released in 2001, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone became a box office phenomenon, earning over $1 billion worldwide and launching a cinematic universe that would include seven sequels, three Fantastic Beasts prequels, the Cursed Child stage play, and several themed attractions around the world.
Now, a quarter-century later — and nearly 15 years after the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 — Warner Bros is ready to revisit Hogwarts. The studio is also working on a new HBO television series based on Rowling’s books, with filming expected to start soon and a 2027 release planned.
