Politician and actor Ravi Kishan achieved a major milestone at the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2025, earning the Best Actor in a Supporting Role award for his performance in Laapataa Ladies. The film festival’s official social media handle confirmed the news, celebrating his win as part of India’s most prestigious event honoring excellence in cinema, art, culture, and heritage.
The ceremony took place on October 30, 2025, at the NSCI Dome, SVP Stadium, Mumbai. Expressing gratitude after the win, Ravi Kishan dedicated the award to his parents, saying, “I received this through my parents’ blessings, my supporters’ love, and the grace of Guru Gorakhnath Baba. I draw inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. I’m deeply grateful to everyone.” Following the announcement, fans gathered outside his Gorakhpur residence to congratulate him, as he continues his campaign ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections.
Earlier, Ravi Kishan also won his first Filmfare Award for the same film in Gujarat, calling it the result of 33 years of dedication to acting. Overcome with emotion, he said, “I had longed for this for 33 years. People used to think such awards were bought, but that’s not true. I always believed in myself and in Lord Shiva. I thank Kiran Rao for believing in me.” Laapataa Ladies, directed by Kiran Rao and produced by Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao, and Jyoti Deshpande, features Nitanshi Goel, Sparsh Shrivastava, and Pratibha Ranta in lead roles.
