Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday praised the recently concluded Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, calling it a magnificent display of India's cultural heritage and collective spirit. Addressing the Lok Sabha, he expressed gratitude to the people of the country for making the event a grand success.

"I salute the citizens of India who played a role in the successful organization of the Maha Kumbh. Many individuals and institutions contributed to this achievement, and I extend my thanks to all the 'karma yogis' from both the government and society," PM Modi said. He emphasized that the world witnessed India’s magnificence during the Maha Kumbh, acknowledging the immense efforts of the people of Uttar Pradesh, especially those from Prayagraj. Modi described the event as a reflection of a "national awakening," one that would inspire future accomplishments and silence those who doubt India's strength.

The Prime Minister reiterated his belief in 'Sabka Prayas' (collective effort), which he had highlighted in his Independence Day speech from the Red Fort. He noted that the Maha Kumbh was a testament to this philosophy, demonstrating how unity and dedication could bring about extraordinary success.

Beyond its religious and cultural significance, PM Modi also highlighted the Maha Kumbh’s message of water conservation. He suggested expanding the 'Nadi Utsav' initiative, which promotes awareness about preserving rivers, ensuring that future generations understand the importance of water resources.

Maha Kumbh 2025: A Grand Gathering of Faith and Devotion: According to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, more than 662 million devotees took part in the sacred bath at the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati. Held between January 13 and February 26, the Maha Kumbh attracted people from all walks of life, including politicians, athletes, industrialists, and Bollywood celebrities, all coming together to participate in the holy ritual.

To ensure security and smooth operations, authorities implemented advanced safety measures, including anti-drone systems and AI-enabled cameras. The entire Maha Kumbh Nagar was designated as Uttar Pradesh’s 76th district for the event, spanning 40 hectares and functioning around the clock for six weeks. This Maha Kumbh was not just a religious gathering—it was a reflection of India’s deep-rooted traditions, organizational excellence, and the unwavering faith of millions.
