Renowned composer John Williams has officially joined Steven Spielberg’s upcoming movie project, once again taking on the role of crafting the film’s musical score. The announcement was shared by Damian Woetzel, president of The Juilliard School, during a special event titled “John Williams – A Composer’s Life: A Night of Stories and Music,” held at the prestigious performing arts institution. Woetzel revealed to the audience that Williams is currently in Los Angeles, doing what he has done for decades — composing new music in collaboration with Spielberg. Journalist Doug Adams also noted Woetzel’s enthusiastic confirmation, emphasizing that this reunion of two cinematic legends is definitely something for fans to celebrate.

The partnership between Spielberg and Williams is one of the most celebrated in film history. Their collaboration began in 1974 with The Sugarland Express and quickly grew into a defining creative alliance. Over the years, they have worked together on many of the most influential and beloved films ever made, including Jaws, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Jurassic Park, Schindler’s List, Saving Private Ryan, and Lincoln. Their joint efforts have shaped the emotional core and cinematic identity of these classics.

Details surrounding Spielberg’s next film remain closely guarded. The official title and story have not yet been disclosed, but reports suggest that the movie will explore a thrilling adventure involving UFOs. Universal Pictures, which will release the film in theaters next June, has described it simply as a “new original event film,” hinting at an exciting and large-scale cinematic experience.
