Bigg Boss Kannada set in Bengaluru has reportedly been sealed due to alleged environmental violations.

Authorities from Bengaluru South District sealed Vels Studio (Jollywood and Entertainment Limited) in the Bidadi Industrial Area late last night following orders from the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) for violating environmental regulations. The KSPCB reportedly directed the closure of the Bigg Boss Kannada shooting location at Vels Studio due to breaches of air and water pollution norms.
KSPCB Member Secretary SS Lingaraju told ANI that the board’s action was not directly against the reality show but against Vels Studio, the official occupant of the property. He explained that the studio lacked the mandatory “consent to operate” required under the Air and Water Acts. “They run amusement activities, hotel facilities, and a 250 KLD sewage treatment plant, which is non-functional. Their waste management practices also fail to meet PCB standards. Despite multiple notices, they never applied for the necessary consent,” he said.
Reports indicate that the sewage treatment plant was not operational, leading to the discharge of about 2.5 lakh litres of untreated wastewater due to inadequate sewage management. Consequently, Vels Studio in Bidadi, Ramanagara, has been shut down for violating environmental norms. As a result, the Bigg Boss Kannada production has been suspended, and all contestants were evacuated from the house and relocated to Eagleton Resort.
