The Baloch National Movement (BNM) organised a protest rally in Hannover, Germany, to highlight alleged human rights violations in Pakistan’s Balochistan region. Demonstrators called attention to enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings and military operations, urging the international community to press Pakistani authorities for accountability. According to a statement shared by the BNM on X, the march began near Kröpcke, a central area of Hannover, and proceeded through the city towards the Lower Saxony State Parliament.

Participants raised slogans and distributed leaflets outlining their concerns about the human rights situation in Balochistan. They demanded impartial investigations into alleged abuses, accountability for those responsible and international efforts to protect the Baloch people's right to self-determination.

The rally featured speeches by BNM activists Asif Baloch and Aqib Baloch, along with Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) representatives Saeed Momand and Fazal Meena Khel. The speakers discussed allegations of enforced disappearances, arbitrary arrests, torture and civilian deaths. They also emphasised the importance of closer cooperation between Baloch and Pashtun communities in their pursuit of justice and fundamental rights.

Citing reports from Paank, the BNM's human rights wing, the speakers expressed concern over the reported killings of Peer Jan, Shoaib Baloch, Hafiz Mudassir, Wazir Ahmed and Jasim in Panjgur in August 2026. They called for independent inquiries into civilian casualties, including deaths allegedly linked to military airstrikes and drone operations. The protesters also appealed to the United Nations and international human rights organisations to examine the reported incidents and ensure that any substantiated violations lead to accountability.

The BNM maintained that the Baloch people should be able to determine their political future, arguing that a lasting resolution to the region's conflict requires more than military action. Balochistan has faced longstanding allegations of enforced disappearances and other human rights abuses. Rights advocates have reported cases in which individuals were released after detention, while others allegedly remained missing for extended periods or were later found dead. Concerns over arbitrary detention, targeted killings and limited accountability have contributed to insecurity and mistrust among sections of the local population. Rights groups have continued to call for transparent investigations, due process and stronger protections for civilians.

The Hannover demonstration brought these concerns before a European audience, with participants urging international institutions to pay closer attention to developments in Balochistan. Their demands centred on investigating alleged abuses, protecting fundamental freedoms and ensuring that those responsible for proven violations are held accountable. The allegations raised at the rally underscore continuing calls from Baloch rights activists for greater international scrutiny and a peaceful, rights-based approach to resolving the region's longstanding conflict.
