Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has expressed heartfelt pride and affection for his grandson Agastya Nanda, who is set to make his feature film debut in the upcoming war drama Ikkis. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Sriram Raghavan, the film tells the extraordinary true story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra awardee, who displayed unmatched courage during the Indo-Pak war.

After watching the film’s trailer, Amitabh Bachchan took to X (formerly Twitter) to pen an emotional note reflecting on Agastya’s journey from childhood to stardom. “Agastya! I held you in my hands when you were born... and today you play in theatres all over the world. You are special. All my prayers and blessings to you — may you bring glory to your work and pride to our family,” the actor wrote, expressing deep love and admiration.

The recently unveiled trailer showcases Agastya Nanda as the young, valiant Arun Khetarpal, charting his journey from the National Defence Academy to the battlefield, where he fought with unparalleled bravery. The glimpse reveals his determination to earn the Param Vir Chakra, moments of intense training, and a tender romantic subplot that adds emotional depth to the war narrative. The trailer also highlights Khetarpal’s iconic tank, “Famagusta,” which he commanded during the war, and features veteran actor Dharmendra as his father. Jaideep Ahlawat plays an army officer who praises Khetarpal as a shining example for both the Indian and Pakistani armies.

Ending on a powerful note, the trailer echoes Khetarpal’s legendary final words: “No, Sir. I will not abandon my tank. My gun is still working. I’ll get these b**rds.” Produced by Dinesh Vijan, Ikkis also stars Simar Bhatia, alongside Dharmendra and Jaideep Ahlawat. The film promises to be an inspiring tribute to courage, sacrifice, and patriotism — and is scheduled to release in December 2025.
