Amid the ongoing flood crisis in Punjab, actor Randeep Hooda has stepped forward to support affected families in Gurdaspur, one of the hardest-hit districts. Over the past few weeks, devastating floods have impacted thousands of households across several villages in the state, with Gurdaspur suffering the most damage, according to the Punjab government.

Randeep Hooda, who has been working alongside Global Sikhs NGO founder Amarpreet Singh and his friend Maninder Singh for over a decade, joined hands with the organization to aid flood-hit communities in Gurdaspur. His team shared a press note confirming his involvement in distributing relief supplies with the help of volunteers from Global Sikhs, ensuring essentials reached affected families.

On Instagram, the Jaat actor reshared a post from the NGO, showing him actively helping those in need. The Global Sikhs captioned their update, “PUNJAB FLOOD RELIEF 2025. True to his spirit, @randeephooda has once again stood up for Punjab. He is on ground zero with Global Sikhs, extending his support in our ongoing flood relief efforts. Together, we continue to bring hope and help where it’s needed most.”

According to government data, about 1,655 villages across Punjab have been hit by flooding. Gurdaspur alone reported damage in 324 villages, followed by Amritsar (190), Kapurthala (123), Hoshiarpur (121), Ferozepur (111), and Sangrur (107). In total, around 1.75 lakh hectares of land have been affected, with Gurdaspur losing over 40,000 hectares of crops. Other major crop losses were reported in Mansa, Fazilka, Sangrur, and Kapurthala. The floods also forced the evacuation of nearly 19,500 people, with Gurdaspur (5,581) and Amritsar (2,734) seeing the largest relocations. To provide shelter, 167 relief camps are currently operating across Punjab, including 29 in Barnala.
