Vikram Misri will visit the US to discuss global issues and bilateral ties.

Vikram Misri is scheduled to visit the United States of America from April 8 to 10 for high-level discussions aimed at reviewing the full scope of India-US relations, along with key regional and global developments, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Tuesday. According to the MEA, the visit to Washington, D.C. will provide an important opportunity to assess the entire spectrum of bilateral ties and advance cooperation across critical sectors. During the visit, Misri will meet senior officials from the US administration to deliberate on a wide range of issues, including trade, defence, science and technology, as well as regional and global matters of shared concern. These discussions are expected to further strengthen collaboration between the two countries.
The ministry highlighted that the visit follows External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar’s trip to Washington earlier in February and reflects the ongoing momentum of high-level diplomatic engagements between India and the United States. Such regular interactions continue to play a key role in deepening strategic ties.
US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor is currently in the United States. He recently met India’s Ambassador Vinay Mohan Kwatra and emphasized the significance of the strategic partnership between New Delhi and Washington. Gor also held meetings with Vice President JD Vance and FBI Director Kash Patel.
He is also expected to meet President Donald Trump for a dinner engagement scheduled alongside a key deadline related to US-Iran negotiations. In an earlier interview with SPAN Magazine, Gor noted that President Trump regards Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a close friend, highlighting that their strong personal rapport contributes to strengthening bilateral ties and advancing shared goals.
