The Women Welfare Organisation at Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW) conducted a five-day training program on Childhood Testing, Assessment, and Management at the Chetna Training Centre from January 16 to 22. On January 27, Nai Subah awarded certificates to all teachers who successfully completed the program. Monika Srivastava, President of the BLW Women Welfare Organisation, presented appreciation certificates to the trainers. During the event, uniforms were distributed to teachers and staff of the Chetna Training Centre, and sweets were given to the trainees.

The event was attended by Gauri Srivastava (Vice President), Gurmeet Kaur (Treasurer), Shweta Srivastava (Secretary), Ritika Singh, Shikha Jain, Anju Gupta, Rakhi Gupta, Hansa, and Anuja Khare. The training aimed to provide teachers with a thorough understanding of child development, advanced assessment and management techniques, and tools to better address children’s educational and mental needs.

In a related development, Banaras Hindu University’s Department of Genetics and Plant Breeding, under the Institute of Agricultural Sciences, in collaboration with the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), Philippines, will host the International Conference on Climate Resilient Agriculture for Sustainable Development, Innovations, and Solutions (ICCRA2026) from February 5 to 7.

The conference seeks to draw global attention to the challenges posed by climate change and explore innovative technologies, policies, and solutions in agriculture. According to Shravan Kumar Singh, Head of the Department and convenor of the conference, and Organising Secretary J. Jorben, over 500 participants—including leading scientists, academicians, policymakers, industry experts, research scholars, and progressive farmers—from 23 Indian states and countries such as the USA, Mexico, Philippines, Serbia, and Nepal are expected to attend. Discussions will focus on climate-smart agriculture, sustainable crop production, genomics and breeding innovations, AI and machine learning in farming, natural resource management, and agricultural entrepreneurship.
