Union Minister Piyush Goyal has announced significant progress in India's trade negotiations with key partners including the United States, the European Union, New Zealand, and Oman. Speaking at a press event in Patna, Goyal revealed that the first tranche of the India-US trade agreement is expected to be finalized by November 2025. He emphasized that since March, discussions between New Delhi and Washington have been conducted in a positive and serious environment, with both sides satisfied with the progress.

This milestone follows instructions from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump in February 2025 to expedite negotiations and complete a substantial part of the pact by November. The ongoing talks aim to ease trade barriers and deepen economic ties between the two countries. Trump recently affirmed on social media his optimism about reaching a successful agreement soon, highlighting the friendly rapport between the leaders.

Alongside the US, India is actively engaging with the European Union and New Zealand to forge new trade deals. Additionally, a Free Trade Agreement with Oman is on the verge of completion, expected within the coming week. Goyal stressed that these negotiations are part of India's broader strategy to strengthen global partnerships and create reciprocal benefits.

The trade agreements in the pipeline are expected to boost market access, enhance investment flows, and support sectors ranging from technology to manufacturing. Goyal also reiterated that India continues to focus on building sustainable trade relationships that contribute to long-term economic growth. These developments mark a crucial step in India's evolving trade landscape, reflecting the country’s commitment to becoming a more influential player on the global economic stage.
