The trailer for Toy Story 5 is out, with Woody and Buzz Lightyear reuniting to face technology in Pixar's next film.

Disney and Pixar have unveiled the first full trailer for Toy Story 5, marking the return of the iconic animated franchise seven years after its previous installment. The trailer was released through the studios’ official social media accounts, along with confirmation that the film will premiere in theatres on June 19.
According to Variety, the new chapter follows Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and their companions as they face a modern challenge — finding their relevance in a world increasingly shaped by digital technology. The central conflict emerges when Bonnie becomes attached to a frog-themed tablet called Lilypad, voiced by Greta Lee. Rather than portraying technology purely as an antagonist, the story explores the emotional and existential struggles toys experience as they risk becoming obsolete.
The trailer also highlights the emotional reunion between Woody and Buzz, while adding subtle humor through Woody’s updated appearance, including a small bald spot and a poncho. Tom Hanks and Tim Allen return to voice the beloved characters, alongside Joan Cusack as Jessie. Supporting characters such as Forky, Slinky Dog, Hamm, and Trixie also return, joining forces to help Bonnie reconnect with the importance of her toys.
Several new characters are introduced, including Atlas, a GPS-enabled hippo voiced by Craig Robinson; Snappy, an enthusiastic camera toy voiced by Shelby Rabara; and Smarty Pants, a tech-focused training toy voiced by Conan O'Brien. The film is directed and written by Andrew Stanton, known for Finding Nemo and WALL-E, with Kenna Harris serving as co-director. The sequel continues after Toy Story 4, where Woody chose independence, leaving fans curious about how his journey will evolve.
