BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla on Monday alleged that infighting within the INDI alliance is intensifying, describing it as a “tukde-tukde” coalition lacking a clear mission or vision. His remarks came after Rahul Gandhi’s close aide, Praveen Chakravarty, shared data on X (formerly Twitter) comparing the state debts of Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh. Speaking to ANI, Poonawalla claimed that Chakravarty’s comments, which appeared to endorse Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s model over Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin’s, reflect Rahul Gandhi’s stance.

Poonawalla further asserted that the INDI alliance exists only on paper in states including Delhi, West Bengal, Haryana, Punjab, Bihar, Maharashtra, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu. “Every day, we see a new fight emerging within the INDI alliance. It is a ‘tukde-tukde’ alliance—no mission, no vision, only confusion,” he said. He cited instances of internal conflict, including Kerala CM clashing with Congress and Congress targeting DMK.

Criticising Congress’s approach to alliance politics, Poonawalla added, “Congress considers itself a big brother everywhere. But now nobody takes Rahul Gandhi seriously… Congress leaders and alliance partners are not taking Rahul Gandhi seriously. This is also heading towards a triple talaq.”

Chakravarty had posted graphical data highlighting Tamil Nadu’s debt, stating that the state now carries higher debt than Uttar Pradesh and has an alarming interest burden relative to other states. The All India Professionals' Congress (AIPC), the Congress wing for working professionals and entrepreneurs, has been involved in sharing such analyses.
