Russia highlighted its Sukhoi Su-57 and Kamov Ka-52 attack helicopter with aerobatic demonstrations at the Dubai Air Show 2025 at Al Maktoum International Airport on Monday. The event also featured aerial performances by the UAE’s Fursaan Al Emarat team, India’s HAL Tejas, and the Indian Air Force’s Surya Kiran team.

Rosoboronexport, part of the Rostec State Corporation, is managing Russia’s sole exhibit at the show, which runs from November 17 to 21. The 1,000-square-metre pavilion displays defence, dual-use and civilian products from major Russian companies such as the United Aircraft Corporation, United Engine Corporation, KRET, Almaz-Antey and the Tactical Missiles Corporation.

According to Rosoboronexport Director General Alexander Mikheev, the company is presenting over 850 Russian products, describing them as advanced systems designed to boost defence capabilities. More than 30 key systems are showcased on static display, and Russian representatives will meet military delegations from the Middle East, North Africa and other regions to discuss cooperation and technology partnerships.

The Su-57E fifth-generation fighter is being shown in the Middle East for the first time, with its capabilities demonstrated in the flight programme. Mikheev noted that Russia is the only country offering both the supply of such fighters and the option to localise Su-57E production in a customer nation. The aircraft is displayed alongside a range of air weapons, including RVV-MD2 and RVV-BD air-to-air missiles and Kh-38MLE, Kh-69, Grom-E1 and Kh-58UShKE air-to-surface and anti-radar missiles.

Russia is also presenting the new Item 177S turbojet engine featuring improved thrust and efficiency, as well as the upgraded Yak-130M trainer equipped with modern avionics, a targeting pod and the President-S130 self-protection system. On static display, the IL-76MD-90A(E) transport aircraft is being showcased, capable of carrying up to 60 tonnes over 4,000 km or 52 tonnes over 5,000 km, and fitted with an EO system and optional President-S EW suite.

The Ka-52 attack helicopter joined the Su-57E in the flight display, featuring weapons such as the Kh-MD homing missile, Kh-38MLE and the 305E lightweight guided missile. In the UAV section, Rosoboronexport is presenting the Orlan-10E, Orlan-30 and Skat-350M reconnaissance drones, along with upgraded Lancet-E and KUB-2-2E loitering munitions.

For the first time in Dubai, Russia is exhibiting full-scale air defence systems, including the modular Pantsir-SMD-E SAM system capable of carrying up to 48 short-range missiles or 12 standard SAMs. Other showcased systems include the Dzhigit launcher, the Verba MANPADS and the SKVP airspace monitoring system designed to detect low-altitude and low-speed UAVs. Rosoboronexport’s display covers air weapons, electronics, air defence and electronic warfare solutions across multiple market sectors.
