President Droupadi Murmu convey their greetings on the occasion of Navy Day.

President Droupadi Murmu on Thursday conveyed her Navy Day greetings, paying tribute to Navy personnel, veterans, and their families. India observes Navy Day on December 4 each year to honor the Indian Navy’s contributions and to remember its success in Operation Trident during the 1971 Indo-Pak War.
In a message on X, she wrote: “Warm greetings to Indian Navy personnel, veterans and their families on Navy Day. The nation salutes the brave men and women who protect our maritime borders and national interests with courage, vigilance, and dedication. From securing trade routes and supporting the blue economy to leading humanitarian missions, the Navy represents discipline, compassion, and responsibility.” Prime Minister Narendra Modi also sent Navy Day greetings, stating that the maritime force symbolizes exceptional bravery and determination. He reflected on his visit to the indigenously built aircraft carrier INS Vikrant during last year’s Diwali celebrations.
“Navy Day greetings to all members of the Indian Navy. Our Navy stands for outstanding courage and determination. They guard our coasts and protect our maritime interests. In recent years, the Navy has emphasized self-reliance and modernization, strengthening our security,” he wrote on X. Recalling his 2025 Diwali on board INS Vikrant, he added, “I will always remember spending this year’s Diwali with Naval personnel on INS Vikrant,” along with a video of his visit.
A day earlier, the Navy showcased its operational strength and maritime capabilities through an impressive ‘Operational Demonstration’ at Shangumugham beach in Thiruvananthapuram. The large-scale event highlighted the Navy’s combat readiness, technological advancement, and growing emphasis on self-reliance, reflecting India’s increasing maritime power.
