Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Queen Máxima of the Netherlands to discuss India’s Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI)–driven transformation and its role in improving access to financial services. He highlighted that India is committed to sharing its experience with partner nations worldwide.

In a post on X, PM Modi expressed pleasure in meeting Queen Máxima, who also serves as the UN Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Financial Health and is a global advocate for financial inclusion. He noted that their discussions focused on how India’s DPI revolution is making financial services more affordable and widely accessible, while also strengthening “Ease of Living” and empowering citizens at scale. He reiterated India’s willingness to collaborate with other countries and share its digital development journey.

During her three-day visit to India in her UN role, Queen Máxima praised the country’s progress in financial inclusion and its robust digital public infrastructure. Speaking to reporters, she said she was delighted to return to India and acknowledged the country’s significant work in this area. She emphasized that the next step is ensuring these systems translate into real improvements in people’s lives through better financial health.

When asked about the Netherlands’ performance in the FIFA World Cup, she responded optimistically, saying she hoped the team would reach the final, though they still had a long journey ahead. The Embassy of the Netherlands in India, Nepal, and Bhutan also shared a post on X welcoming Queen Máxima, noting her three-day visit across Mumbai and New Delhi in her capacity as the UN Special Advocate for Financial Health.
