Piyush Goyal held a meeting with UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy in London.

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal met with David Lammy, the UK Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, during a joint India-UK business reception held at Lancaster House in London. Goyal is currently on a two-day visit to the United Kingdom, aimed at strengthening economic ties between the two countries. During the event, he also addressed attendees alongside Jonathan Reynolds, the UK's Secretary of State for Business and Trade, where he emphasized the promising future of the India-UK partnership.
In a post on social media platform X, Goyal expressed appreciation for the UK’s hospitality and shared optimism about achieving meaningful results through their shared economic goals. On the first day of his visit, Goyal engaged with several business leaders to discuss new avenues for collaboration. He held talks with Martin Gilbert, Chairperson of Revolut App, focusing on the rapid expansion of India’s fintech landscape and the value of international partnerships to drive innovation and development.
Goyal shared on social media: “Met Mr. Martin Gilbert, Chairperson of @RevolutApp. We discussed the vast potential in India's fintech sector and the critical role of global partnerships in advancing innovation and growth.” He also met with Al Cook, CEO of De Beers Group, and his team. Their discussion centered on global developments in the Gems and Jewellery sector, India's potential role, sustainable practices, and the expanding diamond industry.
Later, Goyal interacted with members of the Indian business delegation over dinner, where they discussed the robust growth of Indian industries and explored deeper cooperation with the UK to foster shared prosperity. In another post, the minister said, “Had a fruitful interaction with the Indian business delegation over dinner. We talked about the impressive growth of our industry and new opportunities to enhance collaboration with the UK.”
