Human Rights Focus Pakistan (HRFP) has strongly condemned the kidnapping and sexual assault of a 12-year-old Christian girl. Although a First Information Report (FIR) has been filed, the suspects remain at large, and the victim’s family continues to face threats. HRFP’s fact-finding mission determined that the incident took place on December 8, 2025, when the girl went missing around 6:30 PM while running a local errand. The organization’s team visited the family to document the events and provide support. Two witnesses, Adeel Masih and Parvez Masih, reported seeing the girl being forced into a house by neighbours Talha Shabbir and Muhammad Arsalan.

The girl’s father and the witnesses allegedly caught Talha Shabbir in the act of assault, while Muhammad Arsalan reportedly threatened them with a pistol before both fled. The case was initially handled by Sub-Inspector Asad Hayat under Section 375-A of the Pakistan Penal Code and sent to the Millat Town Police Station. It is now with the Special Sexual Offences Investigation Unit (SSIOU), but little progress has been made. During the court hearing on January 5, 2026, no significant developments were reported. Despite clear identification and witness accounts, the accused have not been arrested, and the family claims they are being pressured to withdraw the case.

HRFP President Naveed Walter highlighted the severity of the incident, which involves child abuse, abduction, and the risk of forced conversion through coerced marriage. “Filing an FIR is only the first step; justice requires arresting the perpetrators, protecting the victim and her family, and implementing measures to prevent such abuses against minority girls,” Walter said. HRFP urged authorities to promptly arrest Talha Shabbir and Muhammad Arsalan, provide round-the-clock security for the victim and her family, and fast-track the legal proceedings to prevent further exploitation of procedural delays.
