Opposition party workers block rail and road networks to enforce 'Bihar Bandh' shutdown.

Rail and road services were disrupted across parts of Bihar on Wednesday as opposition party workers took to the streets to enforce a statewide bandh called by the Mahagathbandhan alliance. The protest was against the ongoing special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. Top leaders from the opposition, including Rahul Gandhi of the Congress and Tejashwi Yadav of the RJD, along with other INDIA bloc members, planned a protest march to the Election Commission office in Patna.
In the state capital, opposition workers set tyres on fire and blocked traffic on the Mahatma Gandhi Setu, causing major disruption. Independent MP from Purnea, Rajesh Ranjan (Pappu Yadav), and his supporters attempted to halt train services at Sachiwalay Halt station and also disrupted rail and road movement in areas like Araria, Purnea, Katihar, and Muzaffarpur.
Yadav accused the Election Commission of deliberately removing names of migrants, Dalits, Mahadalits, and the poor from voter lists through the electoral roll revision, calling it a conspiracy to suppress votes ahead of the state polls. Supporters of RJD, Congress, CPI(ML) Liberation, and CPM also staged demonstrations and road blockades by burning tyres in Arwal, Jehanabad, and Darbhanga. Meanwhile, security forces have been deployed to ensure smooth conduct of the nagar panchayat by-elections in various areas of Patna district.
