Mumbai Police track down the scooter involved in the firing near Rohit Shetty's residence.

In a significant update on the investigation into the firing outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s Mumbai residence, Mumbai Police have traced the Honda Dio scooter used in the incident to a man from Pune. Sources revealed that the Pune resident sold the scooter a few days ago to Aditya Gayaki, one of the arrested suspects, for Rs 30,000, and even obtained Gayaki’s signature on a plain sheet of paper.
Aditya Gayaki, along with another arrested individual, Samarth Pomaji, later left the scooter at a pre-determined spot in Juhu, Mumbai, under instructions from Shubham Lonkar. Police added that the accused were unaware of the shooter’s identity during the period between purchasing the scooter and delivering it to Mumbai. Lonkar reportedly instructed the shooter to collect the scooter from the location and carry out the attack.
Authorities noted that a similar method has been used in past crimes, where multiple small groups are engaged to execute a single incident. Meanwhile, five people detained in connection with the case have been presented before the Criminal Court. The accused’s lawyer claimed that his clients have no links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and denied any knowledge of the firing. He also mentioned that police have been granted four-day custody of the accused, who are cooperating with the investigation.
On Sunday, assailants fired four rounds outside Shetty’s residence in Juhu. Following the incident, heavy police security was deployed around the building, while forensic teams secured the area to conduct a detailed investigation. Officials confirmed that the probe is ongoing and all leads are being explored. No injuries were reported.
