Actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut took part in the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign in Bhubaneswar on Thursday by planting a sapling to mark World Environment Day. Addressing the media during the event, Kangana expressed happiness about joining the initiative and contributing to the environmental drive.

“On the occasion of World Environment Day, I planted a sapling in Bhubaneswar under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign,” she said. Kangana is currently occupied with the promotions of her upcoming movie ‘Bharat Bhagya Vidhata’. During her Odisha visit, she also met Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.

Speaking about the film, the actress shared that the team was thrilled as the Chief Minister had agreed to watch the movie. “We are excited that the Chief Minister has given us time to see our film. We hope to showcase the real spirit and meaning of ‘Bharat Bhagya Vidhata’,” she stated. While launching the trailer of the film, Kangana revealed that the title was inspired by a phrase used by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for workers and labourers.

She explained that PM Modi had previously introduced terms like ‘Divyangjan’ for specially-abled individuals, ‘Kalyani’ for widows under welfare schemes, and ‘Vishwakarma’ for artisans and craftsmen. In a similar way, labourers were referred to as ‘Bharat Bhagya Vidhata’, a phrase that deeply resonated with the makers and eventually became the title of the film.

In the movie, Kangana portrays a staff nurse — a simple yet hardworking woman whose dedication often goes unnoticed. ‘Bharat Bhagya Vidhata’ is presented by Dr Jayantilal Gada under PEN Studios and is jointly produced by PEN Studios, Manikarnika Films, and Paramhans Creations, in association with Eunoia Films LLP and Floating Rocks Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.
