Sanjay Kumar Jha, National Working President of Janata Dal (United), on Tuesday stated that the Cabinet meeting chaired by Nitish Kumar was his final one as Chief Minister, during which he addressed all Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs). The meeting was held at the Old Secretariat, and Nitish Kumar was expected to meet the Governor afterward.

Addressing reporters, Jha said that the Chief Minister himself described the meeting as his last in office. He noted that despite the change in leadership, both the present and future governments would continue to function under Nitish Kumar’s guidance. Calling it an emotional moment, Jha said the development holds deep significance for the people of Bihar.

He further emphasized the transformation Bihar has witnessed under Nitish Kumar’s leadership, stating that the state regained its pride and dignity. According to him, there was a time when people felt hesitant to identify themselves as Bihari, but that perception changed positively during Nitish Kumar’s tenure.

Other leaders also shared similar sentiments. Ramkripal Yadav said that Nitish Kumar expressed gratitude to Cabinet members and the public, making the moment emotional for everyone present. Leshi Singh added that it was both an emotional and proud occasion, noting her long association with him since 1995. The remarks come amid ongoing political developments, as the National Democratic Alliance is scheduled to meet to decide Nitish Kumar’s successor.
