Jaishankar on Operation Sindoor: The world must adopt a zero-tolerance stance against terrorism.

Hours after the Indian Armed Forces launched a successful strike on nine terror camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoK) as part of Operation Sindoor, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar emphasized that the international community must adopt a zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism. In a post on social media platform X, Jaishankar wrote, “The world must show zero tolerance for terrorism. #OperationSindoor,” highlighting the urgency for global solidarity against terrorism.
The strikes were carried out in response to the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which resulted in the deaths of 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen, with several others injured. According to the Ministry of Defence, Operation Sindoor targeted terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and PoK that had been used to orchestrate attacks against India. The operation, executed by the Army, Navy, and Air Force, was described as precise, restrained, and non-escalatory, ensuring that no Pakistani military facilities were struck.
Sources confirmed that all nine intended targets—mainly aimed at eliminating top figures from Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT)—were successfully neutralized. Prime Minister Narendra Modi monitored the operation closely through the night. A press conference by the Ministry of Defence is scheduled for Wednesday at 10:00 am to provide further details about Operation Sindoor.
